I'm walking on sunshine
Today I went for a walk just about 10 minutes or so to the local petrol station. At the moment that kind of walk and back takes an hour I have to walk nice and carefully still to protect my back and anyway I’m not exactly in a rush to get anywhere.🚶
It’s one of those days where you get a couple of seasons in an hour. It had been raining cats and dogs earlier and then all of a sudden the sky just went this deep azure blue and that was my window.☀️
It’s the longest walk I’ve done since returning home and I can honestly say I relished every single step of it. I suppose it’s strange but just the very very simple stuff in life now has a different meaning to me and certainly a whole brand new feeling of appreciation for the little things in life that I just didn’t notice before.
Even my estate is beautiful when you look at it through these new eyes I seem to be wearing. To be fair it’s always been a pleasing on the eye kind of place to live and I’ve been very lucky to be there for three years.
As I stepped outside the sun was warm and I can almost image the kindness of the sun’s rays bathing me in a healing feeling, that’s how it felt, perhaps that’s how I feels when the universe is on your side.☀️
I stopped to take in anything that took up my awareness. I watched the cats lazily going about their day, not a care in the world. They actually just about make enough energy for a yawn or two.🐈
Delivery drivers buzzing around the estate. In fact that’s exactly it, the estate from above is like a massive bee hive , everyone playing a part here and there for the good of the estate.🏘️
I suppose that is the way of the world we are all little worker bees, some are soldiers and some are queen’s but we are all there for each other and the common good of keeping us going. 🐝
A small flock of gold finches flew over, you can always tell a goldfinch by the way it flies in a swooping motion bit like a wave in the sky and the high pitch tune they have, it’s like they fly and sing for pure joy and the colours are really very exotic looking. We are lucky we seem to have adopted quite a few of these beautiful birds on the estate and they really do make a difference, once you notice them.
I have always loved nature since I was a little boy, and I have always made sure wherever I am to be aware of it but it’s nothing compared to now it’s like all of my senses are tuned into it and it’s a massive comfort of course I’m so grateful that I live where I am, but even in the centre of London now you see flocks of parakeets and all different kinds of wild animals we are often blessed with this nature but sadly so many are unaware of it. 🦌🐦
I count myself lucky that in my life so far I was given as a little boy the curiosity and wonder to explore nature. There really has been nothing better for me than a walk in the British woods, the trees the sounds the smells and feelings all come alive to me, such a blessing. It’s always been in me. I’m a born day dreamer, my head in the clouds and now I’m grateful it was that way.🙏
The wind is quite strong 🌬️, it’s almost a perfect wind not to hot and not too cold. Ive always liked the power of the wind. I’ve been in awe of hurricanes and tornadoes all my life, although I don’t wish the harm they cause they really are nature’s ultimate power that nothing can mess with.
The wind today is combining with the striking white cumulus clouds and it’s like the sky is a live painting, the blue sky the canvas, a work of natural art, a masterpiece and I’m lucky to see the show.
See what I mean, this is my show right now. Thank you to the universe, I would highly recommend this one.
Sometimes it’s just so bloody good to be alive❤️
